A WHARFEDALE graduate is about to embark on a three month volunteering adventure in Bangladesh.
Twenty two year old Alistair Simpson will be heading to the country in January to support a Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) project aimed at tackling poverty.
The trip will be part of the UK government funded International Citizen Service (ICS) programme.
Before heading out, though, Alistair - who has already reached £1,316 - needs to hit a £1,500 fundraising target for VSO.
He said: "It's vital I reach my target.
"The project I'm working on is aimed at lifting communities out of poverty and I'll be working closely alongside Bangladeshi volunteers.
"It's a great opportunity to experience another culture and make a difference at the same time - I'm really excited to get out there and start making a real difference to the lives of people in the developing world.
"The money raised from my fundraising will help make sure that communities in developing countries continue to benefit from the work of future volunteers."
Alistair can be sponsored at justgiving.com/fundraising/aligoes2asia, or by sending text AJSZ94 to 70070 .
