Ilkley Town 0 Pool 4

POOL progressed to the West Riding County Challenge Cup semi-final for the first time in their history with this, eventually, comfortable win at Wharfedale rivals Ilkley Town.

Pool had failed to win in their previous two visits to the Ben Rhydding ground, and honours were fairly even in the opening exchanges.

The visitors had just began to get the upper hand when Tom Fleming fired home from just inside the box to give them the lead.

As half-time approached, Pool were caught napping. Ilkley broke forward with four against two, and their striker only just failed to get onto the end of the resulting low cross.

Having survived this, Pool again pushed forward andFleming was on hand again to fire home a second goal before the break.

Ilkley came out in the second half with all guns blazing and only a fine save by Pool keeper Michael Tosney at his near post prevented them from gaining an immediate reward.

They continued to dominate the early part of the second half, but were unable to capitalise.

Pool weathered the storm and came back into the match. It was midway through the half before Grant Bligh effectively sealed their victory with a fine long-range effort.

The scoring was completed when Matthew Nebard sped in at the far post to fire home from an acute angle.
