MENSTON residents are to go back to the High Court on Friday (January 8) for a judicial review over permission granted to a housing development.

Menston Action Group (MAG) went to the High Court in Leeds in November over Bradford Council's decision to grant planning permission to developer Chartford Homes for 12 houses on Bingley Road.

The double judicial review is against the Council granting planning permission, and its decision to discharge drainage conditions of the planning consent.

At the last hearing in November, the judge, Mr Justice Dove, decided instead of dealing with both issues separately, he would wait until he had heard both challenges to come to a decision.

The judicial review is one of several legal battles MAG is involved in, as residents oppose hundreds of new houses being built in the village.

MAG let its supporters know it will be catching the 8.27am train to Leeds ready for the hearing, which will  take place at Leeds Combined Court Centre, starting at 9.30am.
