A MAN who has worked tirelessly for the Royal British Legion has been awarded one of the organisation’s top honours.
David Marshall was presented with a gold badge by a representative of the RBL membership council, Alan Higbee.
Mr Marshall has been secretary of the Bramhope branch since 1995 and is also the current chairman of the Leeds group. He has been active in welfare work in both areas. He has given years of service despite suffering from a painful disability that has needed major surgery and which has severely curtailed his mobility. Mr Marshall has been supported by his wife, Diane, who said branch members were greatly appreciative of his work. At the Bramhope meeting, the Rev Janice Smith, of St Giles Parish Church, was presented with a Royal British Legion stole.
