A teenager who has battled with dyslexia since junior school was the star of the show at Guiseley Carnival.
Sixteen-year-old Kimberley Boyle shone at the event which took place at the end of June.
Kimberley, who is awaiting her GCSE results from Guiseley high school, is hoping to go onto college to continue her studies in animal care.
Her proud mum Charlotte said: "Kimberley has battled with dyslexia since junior school. She has amazed both ourselves and her teachers at both her tenacity and sheer determination to not let her inpediment get in her way or be used as an excuse not to try. This year she has won student of the year at Leeds City college and was chosen as Guiseley school's year eleven's prom Queen which also meant she was asked to become carnival Queen.
"Everyone that comes into contact with her is in awe of her continued efforts in spite of the difficulties she faces on a daily basis."
Kimberley said: "I'm very grateful to have been picked to be prom Queen I never expected it at all... The night was simply amazing.... Then to hear I was Guiseley carnival Queen was just unreal... Plus I got to wear my dress again. Thank you for the opportunity it's one I'll never forget."
