Seven of Otley’s roads are to be resurfaced in preparation for the Tour de France.
Leeds City Council is planning to start the work, which is expected to take up to six weeks and will include some streets that aren’t on Le Tour’s route, in February.
The resurfacing will be carried out on: Cross Green (from East Busk Lane to Boroughgate); Boroughgate (Cross Green to Kirkgate); Westgate (Kirkgate to Ilkley Road); Piper Lane (Ilkley Road to Bradford Road); Bradford Road (Piper Lane to the A660 roundabout); and Billams Hill (Weston Lane to Otley Bridge).
Ward councillors have welcomed the news but are asking that the work be scheduled to cause minimum disruption.
The council is considering undertaking the work between 9.30am and 3.30pm weekdays, but it could also include some Sundays or nights.
