CANTORES Olicanae choir present their Spring concert of 20th Century English music on Saturday, March 21st at 7.30pm in All Saints’ Parish Church, Ilkley.

The overarching theme of this concert is of rejoicing!

The main feature is ‘Rejoice in the Lamb’, one of Benjamin Britten’s most popular and performed works in this genre.

The programme also includes ‘In beauty may I walk’, an evocative choral piece celebrating life and beauty by Jonathan Dove, as well as the bitter sweet harmonies of William Walton’s ‘Set me as a seal upon thy heart’, plus Gerald Finzi’s ‘My spirit sang all day’ – an ecstatic declaration of the joy wrought by love.

Rory Wainwright Johnston, the Musical Director of Cantores Olicanae, will conduct the choir and a string ensemble.

Tickets are £12, students £5, under 14s free and are available from: The Grove Music Shop, Ilkley, or Ilkley Tourist Information Centre, or, or ring 01943 830873. Tickets will also be available on the door.
