THEATRE-GOERS are being invited to pay what they can to enjoy a magical Christmas show in Guiseley.

The affordable entertainment is being staged by Spotty Socks - the theatre company of social enterprise Codswallop CIC.

Molly and Madeleine: The Christmas Stowaways! is inspired by seven-year-old Gracie Thomson. Her story tells of a young girl’s adventure as she follows her dream of exploring the North Pole and visiting Santa Claus. The show boasts spectacular lighting, puppetry, and original music by Martha Phillips, from the Guiseley band The Elephant Trees.

CIC artistic director Jacob Phillips said: “I am proud that Codswallop is able to offer an accessible, family friendly alternative to the big theatres main shows. After the success of last year’s Freckle and Speckle, we have now become a magical aspect of many families’ pre-Christmas traditions.

The ‘pay what you can’ production will be particularly special for Gracie who will see her story adapted and staged.

She said: “I’m so excited to see it come to life, I even have a poster on my bedroom wall.”

It premieres at Guiseley Theatre from December 21 to 24.

PWYC tickets can be booked at www.codswallop.org.uk/boxoffice, or on 0333 666 33 66.
