THE THREE Degrees will perform in Yeadon in October as part of their UK tour.

The American group, which was first formed more than half a century ago, has been singing with changes to the line up since then.

Current vocalists Valerie Holiday, Helen Scott and Freddie Pool will take their show to Yeadon Town Hall on Thursday October 31, singing their greatest hits from the heyday, including When Will I See You Again.

Their appearance will mark the culmination of an action packed month of entertainment at the venue.

The October line-up includes a varied mix of live music performances and community events, including Yeadon’s very first Oktoberfest.

The town hall will open its doors on Friday, October 4 for a Zumba fundraiser. The event will include a cake stall, raffle, crafts and nail treatments, with all proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support and the Yeadon Town Hall restoration fund.

On Saturday, October 5 there will be the ultimate celebration of Soul and Motown music as Soul Kinda Wonderful take to the stage. Audiences can expect performances of hits from the likes of Ben E King, The Temptations, and The Drifters. The award-winning band is led by renowned songwriter and former frontman of Foundations, Richie Sampson, who has previously worked with members of The Drifters.

The sell-out tribute band Mercury arrive at the town hall on Saturday, October 12, performing hit Queen songs such as Bohemian Rhapsody, and Don’t Stop Me Now. The band will return to Yeadon for two dates in 2020.

In a first for the town Oktoberfest will take place on Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19. Traditional German lager and Bratwurst sausages will be on offer along with a host of other drinks. The main auditorium will be transformed into a Bierkeller, with entertainment from a Bavarian Oompah band.

On Friday, October 25 Aireborough Rotary Club will present the annual Festival of Brass. Frank Renton of ‘Listen to the Band’ fame will make his regular visit to Yeadon Town Hall, conducting The Hepworth Brass Band.
