MUSICAL theatre and TV star Lee Mead will perform his autobiographical new show in Ilkley this autumn.

Lee shot to fame after winning the title role in the 2007 West End revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat via the BBC casting programme, Any Dream Will Do.

Since then he has starred in a number of high profile West End shows, produced several albums and toured with his band, and taken TV roles in Casualty and - currently - its sister show Holby City.

Lee is touring around the country this year with Lee Mead - My Story, which he will bring to the King’s Hall at Ilkley on Friday, October 25.

Produced by Total Productions, it is a ‘stripped down’ production that combines conversations and music and sees Lee reflect on his life and career.

Audiences will have the chance to listen to him chat about the magical moments, highs and lows and memories of his life: and hear performances of the songs that mean so much to him and his fans.

The Ilkley show starts at 7.30pm and a variety of tickets are available with prices ranging from £25 to £29.50.

They can be booked by visiting https://www.bradford-theatres.co.uk/ or calling the Bradford Theatres box office on (01274) 432 0000.

Tickets can also be also be purchased from Ilkley Visitor Information Centre.

Lee was selected from thousands of performers when he was thrust into the spotlight back in 2007. The West End revival of Joseph in which he took the title role then went on an incredible run that had to be extended to meet public demand.

His career has been a whirlwind ever since.

Lee’s other West End appearances have included roles in classic musicals Wicked and Legally Blonde, while he took on the Caractacus Potts role in the touring production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

On TV he has been a regular in first Casualty and then Holby City where he stars as Lofty Chiltern – a part written especially for him.

On the recording front Lee has released five albums, the most recent of which - Lee Mead 10 Year Anniversary - was released to celebrate a decade having passed since his landing of the coveted role of Joseph.
