Celebrating this momentous occasion, an extravaganza concert was performed to a full house at Bingley Arts Centre on June 15.
Hot Aire! opened with selections from The Greatest Showman and continued with a Symphonic Suite from Star Trek, followed by Selections from Moana. Training band Fresh Aire!followed with four excellent pieces of music including highlights from The Sound of Music and Game of Thrones .
Special guests Ilkley Youth Choir, making their debut, took us to the interval, singing four beautiful songs to perfection. Hot Aire! also entertained with September, music from The Incredibles and Uptown Funk while Fresh Aire! played a Crazy Little Thing Called Love and What a Wonderful World.
One of the penultimate pieces was a collaboration by Hot Aire! and Ilkley Youth Choir performing As Long as I Have Music. In the grand finale, Compressed Aire! played Bohmische Liebe, an arrangement by Lauren Stafford which will be performed in Bavaria with Musikkapelle Uffing in August. The whole concert could not have been possible without the dedication of Stephen Bradnum, Musical Director of Hot Aire! and Ilkley Youth Choir, Barbara Snowden, Conductor of Fresh Aire!, Emma Bradnum, Musical Director of Ilkley Youth Choir and their accompanist, Becs Leighton.
