BRASSNECK Theatre saw a surge in ticket sales for its forthcoming production of Sunset Boulevard with the launch of a new era for Yeadon Town Hall.

The group was one of a number supporting the Restoration 2020 event on Saturday organised by the community interest company now managing the town hall.

Yeadon Town Hall CIC is aiming to raise enough funds to fully restore the historic landmark.

A spokeswoman for BrassNeck said they had seen a great surge of interest and ticket sales for their up and coming show in May and were thrilled by the support from the Yeadon Town Hall CIC and the community.

Laura Judge, taking the lead role as Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard said: “We’re incredibly lucky to have this amazing venue in our community and it’s an exciting time to work with the CIC team at Yeadon Town Hall to sympathetically restore these fantastic facilities.”

Sunset Boulevard will be the first musical appearing in the town hall’s Spring/Summer season.

CIC director Jamie Hudson said: “Yeadon Town Hall sits at the heart of the Yeadon community and, as such, we’re dedicated to providing an exceptional space for performers, creatives and local groups and organisations to enjoy. We’re delighted BrassNeck Theatre called Yeadon Town Hall home and look forward to their upcoming production of Sunset Boulevard.”

Sunset Boulevard open on Tuesday, May14 and will run to Saturday, May 18. Evening performances will take place at 7.30pm throughout the week and 6.30pm on Saturday. There will also be a 2pm matinee on Saturday. Contact the box office on 0113 250 5011 or online at: www.brassnecktheatre.com
