BRASSNECK Theatre is one of the community groups celebrating a new chapter in the life of Yeadon Town Hall.

The historic building is now under the management of a community interest company, led by a team of local business people and community members. Their future plans for the venue include the launch of Restoration 2020, an initiative aiming to raise enough funds for a full restoration project. The refurbished facilities will be enjoyed by everyone using the building - including BrassNeck Theatre members who have been loyal supporters of the town hall for many years.

Now the group is counting down to its next production – Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard - which is the first musical being staged in the town hall’s spring and summer season.

The cast, led by Laura Judge taking the lead role as Norma Desmond, rehearse at Yeadon Town Hall each week. Group members enjoy the facilities it currently offers but say they are thrilled to hear about the restoration plans.

Laura said:”We’re incredibly lucky to have this amazing venue in our community and it’s an exciting time to work with the CIC team at Yeadon Town Hall to sympathetically restore the fantastic facilities.

“The BrassNeck team will be at Yeadon Town Hall for the big Open Day on Saturday, April 13 and hope that we can really make a difference with our support.”

CIC director Jamie Hudson said: “Yeadon Town Hall sits at the heart of the Yeadon community and, as such, we’re dedicated to providing an exceptional space for performers, creatives and local groups and organisations to enjoy. We’re delighted BrassNeck Theatre called Yeadon Town Hall home and look forward to their upcoming production of Sunset Boulevard.”

The musical opens on Tuesday, May 14 to Saturday, May 18. There will be evening performances at 7.30pm throughout the week and a matinee on Saturday at 2pm with the Saturday evening performance at 6.30pm. Contact the box office on 0113 250 5011 or online at: www.brassnecktheatre.com
