AN AUTHOR who spent 28 years working as a health visitor in Burley-in-Wharfedale before retiring in 2012 has published a book about her experiences.

Entitled Cradle to Grave: Memoirs of a Health Visitor, the book by Molly Brearley, is a sequel to her previous work ‘The Calling: Life as a student nurse in the 1960s.

This latest book follows the author’s experiences as she is drawn into the world of health visiting. The job soon proves to be more challenging than expected as she recalls the pressure she had to contend with as a newly qualified health visitor.

Written with understanding, humour and candour, the book shares real stories and gives a glimpse into the changes in health visiting practices over the years.
