THE American indie thriller Wind River is Ilkley Film Society’s next screening on Sunday March 17 (8pm at Ilkley Playhouse).
After the body of a young woman is found on Wyoming’s Wind River Indian Reservation a female FBI agent teams up with a local tracker to hunt for the killer in the freezing wilderness. They find that the murderer’s identity is not the only secret being harboured in the community.
This sharply written, low budget, character-driven mystery stars Elizabeth Olsen, best known as the Scarlet Witch in the Marvel film franchise, and Jeremy Renner, Oscar-nominated lead in The Hurt Locker. An international hit, Wind River took nearly $50 million at the box office and won director Taylor Sheridan a prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
