TICKETS are now available for Otley Choral Society’s concert performance of Purcell’s wonderful Dido and Aeneas.

The concert performance is on Saturday, March 23 at Otley Parish church and includes several new up and coming soloists as well as more experienced successful performers who are taking the lead roles; Matt Mears is returning to sing with the choir as Aeneas and Charlotte Baden will be performing the role of Dido. Along with Ilkley Choral Society the choirs and soloists will be supported by a baroque ensemble made up of superb musicians from the Yorkshire Chamber Ensemble.

This concert version marks a new opportunity for the choir who have been working hard on communicating the mood and ambience of the choral parts throughout the performance.

Yonni Levy, the musical director is excited to be guiding the choir in this new venture, as well as conducting all the soloists, musicians and the choir to provide an emotional and moving performance.

Tickets are now available from Brown’s gallery, Otley or from choir members and are £15 (including programme).

Under 18s are free and tickets are reduced to only £5 for full time students under 25 who have an NUS card ( card must be presented when buying tickets)
