REHEARSALS are underway for a “gritty, powerful production” of Bad Girls the Musical.

Set to be staged by Yeadon Theatre Company in March, the production is based on the award winning popular prison drama TV series. It will run from Tuesday, March 12 until Saturday, March 16 at Yeadon Town Hall.

A spokeswoman for Yeadon Theatre Company said: “Bad Girls the Musical is a fresh, funny and original British musical in two Acts. It is based on a book by Maureen Chadwick and Ann McManus and the music and lyrics are by Kath Gotts. The musical is widely based on the popular award -winning ITV1 prison drama series, Bad Girls.

“Bad Girls the Musical introduces us to an anarchic bunch of women on the edge and up against the odds. They include, prostitutes, addicts, shop-lifters, murderers, each with a story to tell of lives left behind and their dreams of a better future ahead, however, an entrenched old guard of prison officers are out to dash their every hope.”

They cost £15.50 in the lower stall area (concession price £13.50) plus booking fee and £17.50 in the balcony area (concession price £15.50) plus booking fee. There is a ticket reduction to £10, plus booking fee, on the Tuesday performance.
