BURLEY Theatre Group’s next production is the family show and musical ‘Peter Pan’ written by Celia Fox and directed by Pam Leach.

Peter Pan, a family favourite originally created by J M Barrie, is about an adventurous and mischievous boy who can fly and never grows up, spending his childhood with his loyal fairy Tinker Bell and companions the Lost Boys.

They live in a magical place called Neverland, a world full of mermaids, pirates, Indians, adventures and fun! The play set in both London and Neverland includes plenty of well-known music and of course lots of panto action with comedy from Smee and Noodler (Tony Clegg and Rachel Squire) and plenty of opportunities for boos and hisses at the dastardly Captain Hook! (John Wise).

Wendy is played by Lauren Varley who won ‘Best Principal Girl’ at the 2018 Wharfedale Festive of Theatre Awards for her stunning performance as Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. This production also won ‘Best Programme’ created by Roger Charnley.

It is also BTG’s 21st anniversary season and Peter Pan is their 52nd production. To help celebrate this occasion the Lord Mayor & Mayoress of Bradford are attending the first night performance on Thursday, January 24. The Bradford Mayoralty are always keen to support community-based organisations and are very much looking forward to seeing Peter Pan. Some local councillors are also supporting on the night.

Both Saturday matinee performances are almost fully booked but there are still some good seats available on Thursday and Fridays evenings at 7.30pm.

So why not fly to the Queens Hall, Burley-in-Wharfedale to join in the magic of this fantastic production. With fairy dust and happy thoughts you will soon be there!

Performances are at 7:30pm on January 24th and 25th and there are two Saturday matinees on the 26th at 12:00pm and 5:30pm.
