BOSSES at Bradford-based motors group JCT600 have launched another recruitment drive as UK new car sales are at a ten-year high.

They will outline details of 50 new job opportunities at an event tomorrow at the firm’s BMW dealership on Sticker Lane. Potential employees will be given a overview and details of current vacancies at dealerships around the Bradford, Leeds and York areas.

JCT600 is recruiting for a variety of roles from sales to service department staff and technicians.

The event will include one-to-one chats with a line manager to explain more about roles and opportunities.

Katie Saunders, HR director, said: “We currently have a diverse choice of positions across our 47 dealerships and we’re keen to talk to both people with experience in the motor industry and also those who are thinking of a career change.

“With almost 50 dealerships and a workforce of more than 2,000 people, there is a huge choice of roles on offer and we can provide fantastic opportunities for progression.

“In addition to well-known positions in sales, after sales and administration, we are also looking for the right people to fill our newer roles of showroom hosts and ‘product geniuses’.

“ Rolling out across our dealerships, we are recruiting enthusiastic, customer-focused people to act as showroom hosts, greeting customers and directing them to colleagues who can best help them. In addition, our ‘product geniuses’ are the first point of contact for customers needing in-depth advice about the right car for them.

“Despite our size, JCT600 has retained its family values and prides itself on looking after colleagues. We are committed to being ‘the best place to work’ and have internal development programmes in place to enable every member of the team to grow with us.”

The latest event follows a recruitment drive last year, driven by booming new car sales.

In 2013 JCT600 increased like-for-like new car sales by 16 per cent and achieved record overall results. Turnover rose by more than a third to £909 million, including a ten-month contribution from the newly acquired Gilder dealerships business , with operating profits 30 per cent higher at £20.3 million.

The business owned by the Tordoff family is one of the UK’s largest privately-owned motor traders with dealerships throughout Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and the North East.

The careers event is being held from 6pm-9pm and details about vacancies can be found at jct600.co.uk/about-jct600/careers The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders reported recently that 2,476,435 new cars were registered in the UK in 2014 – the most in a calendar year since 2004 and the fourth largest figure ever. The market grew by 9.3 per cent over the previous year.
