Otley Town 1 Hunslet Club 1 (5-4 on pens)

UNDERDOGS Otley won a penalty-shoot to knock Premier side Hunslet Club out of the West Yorkshire League Cup.

The Division Two side will now be at home to Division One side Wyke Wanderers in the third round.

The pitch at the Showground was heavy after the recent rain, but the two sides settled to trade blows in an even first half.

Hunslet had the best chance of the half when Rick Parry cleared off the line after Town’s keeper James Senior had been beaten.

Both sides were unable to create a clear opening until Hunslet struck to take the lead.

Town were slow to react to a corner and Harry Leigh diverted the ball into his own net.

The home side didn't let the setback trouble them and were on level terms by the 70th minute.

A neat pass from Connor Wilson found Ben McArdle baring down on goal and he slid the ball neatly beyond the keeper.

Town looked for a winning goal in the closing stages but the Hunslet defence denied them.

They maintained their 100 per cent record in shoot outs by converting all their penalties.

Keeper Senior again played a key role by saving the third of Hunslet's penalties.
