Otley Town 5 Horsforth St Margaret's 0
OTLEY Town breezed into the semi-finals of the Wharfedale & District FA Cup with a commanding win over Horsforth St Margaret's.
Town might have fallen behind early on but for a canine intervention when a dog ran onto the field and distracted a Horsforth attacker who was bearing down on goalkeeper Chris Brodie.
As it was Otley took the lead when Dan Chadwick scored from another expertly taken free-kick for the second successive game.
Further goals followed from the returning Toby Harris and Scott Firth to give Town a three -goal cushion at half-time.
Clearly frustrated, Horsforth began to break the game up with a series of fouls and misdemeanours, and so the second half lacked any real flow.
Scott Cater, who was having a poor game by his own recent high standards, blasted in a lovely left-foot strike before captain Harry Higgins completed the rout.
Town will have to be on their mettle ton Saturday when they return to League action with a tough away trip to Beeston St Anthony's.
