BPA Lizards Under-12s, aiming for their fourth title in as many years, made the perfect start to their Keybury League season.

They scored four goals in the opening five minutes against Long Lee A on the way to an 8-1 victory.

Lewis Melvin was the first to score after just 40 seconds, and he was followed a minute later by Alex Gibson, Melvin again and Dylan newsholme, who headed home Gibson's cross.

Long Lee, champions for the previous three years, regrouped with some timely tackles but then gave away a free-kick, which Kaylum Johnson smashed through the wall into the bottom corner to make it 5-0.

New boy Niall Armstrong announced his presence with a wonderful volley for the sixth and, although BPA keeper Thomas Indriks was forced into a spectacular save, Melvin snatched his third on the stroke of half-time.

Long Lee won the second half 1-0 via Bradley Powell but not before Gibson had hit a post and the bar for BPA.

Baildon Trinity Dynamos Under-11s had their first win of the season against Leeds Maccibi thanks to goals from Denon Sokee (2), Louis Turner, Courbon Carr and man of the match Will Robinson, while Baildon Trinity Dynamos Sky Under-eights defeated Albion Sports with goals from Max Paterson (3), Alfie Turner, Harvey Menzies, Ben Cockcroft and Lyndon Bateson, keeper Connor Holmes taking the man-of-the-match gong.

Baildon Trinity Dynamos Blue were satisfied with their start to the campaign - a 3-3 draw against Burley C, Archie Smith (2) and man of the match Parth Sunhil netting.

Dudley Hill Rangers Under-Eights had Josh Whitford on form with a hat-trick, but their inability to defend cost them dear in a 9-3 defeat at Keighley Shamrocks.

But Rangers' Under-Nines hosted Long Lee and won 3-2 with goals from Callum Thornton, Joel Beaumont and George Edge, but the real hero was Rangers' keeper James Hemsworth.

Rawdon travelled to Rangers' Under-Tens and shared the spoils in an entertaining 2-2 draw. Rangers' man of match Jake Softley, who was full of running down the right, scored first for Rangers before Rawdon levelled.

Rhys Hadley edged Rangers back in front with a great shot, only to suffer a fine headed equaliser by Rawdon direct from a corner with five minutes left.

Newcomers Woodhall United Under-Nines made it two wins from two matches in the Craven, Aire & Wharfe League, a 16-1 victory over Menston, Faris Khan scoring five, following a 9-1 thrashing of Guiseley, Tayaab Amin getting the man of the match award in both matches.

Westwood Jets Under-11s overcame a strong Fairbank team in strong winds, Jacob Slator, Liam Wilkinson, Lewis Dunn and Jake Larvin being on target, while Undercliffe Celtic Under-16s mounted a superb second-half comeback to beat Albion Sports 5-3 from 3-0 behind.

Goals came from man of the match Paul Causley, Ewan Pickering and Phillip Byron, jack Vickers providing three assists.

Otley Town Under-11s made a great start to the season, beating Salts Panthers 8-1 at home.

This was a testament to how hard the lads have worked in pre-season training. Goalscorers were Lucas Charlesworth (3), Luke Charlton (2), Chris Sharland, Owen O'Malley and Sheaka Kamara.

Otley Town were also victorious 6-5 at Horsforth Chargers. It was 2-2 at half-time but in the second half's wind and rain, Town edged it through Owen O'Malley (2), Harry Hawkins (2) Luke Charlton and Chris Sharland.

BPA Under-15s suffered their second defeat in as many games, going down 8-1 at home to Salts Lions.

It was only 3-0 at half-time on a blustery afternoon but an injury to BPA keeper Josh Halpin tipped the scales further to Salts. BPA's goal of the game came from man of the match Lewis Haynes - his first for the club - from a well-taken free-kick.

BPA Under-18s went down 5-4 in an entertaining match to Farsley, BPA goals being notched by Harry Hall, Jack Strudwick, Josh Finnan and man of the match David Rooney.

BPA Eagles have moved onto a new challenge in the Garforth League but they started with a derby at bitter rivals Campion, which they won 6-1.

Zack Sangster picked up from where he left off last season with an early goal for the Eagles, and when his strike partner Jack Holroyd doubled the lead, the visitors rarely looked threatened in the first half.

Danny Frost gave the Campion defence a hard time with his trademark runs down the left, while Lewis Collett made a good debut on the opposite flank.

BPA keeper Jordan Moorhouse probably expected a more difficult game, but he was rarely troubled, with his excellent defence dealing with most threats.

The Eagles finished off the hosts when strike partners Sangster and Holroyd added two more goals.

Campion did manage to pull one back when a wind-assisted corner found the back of the net, but any chance of a fightback was soon blown away when Sangster and Holroyd completed their hat-tricks. Tyler Rhodes was man of the match for his tireless efforts.

Wyke Wanderers Under-Tens A won 9-2 at Dewsbury in the Huddersfield RCD League, Jack Leach and Hayden Clifford both grabbing hat-tricks whilt Reece Clay netted a brace, Ranganai Muza getting the other.

Wanderers B followed up with a 6-2 win, Kamran Latif notching four, Muza and Tyrese Liu completing the tally on a tiny pitch. This weekend the A team entertain Yorkshire Lions and the B team host Warley Rangers.

Otley Town Under-12s played their first nine v nine match with offsides, and lost 5-1 at home to Kirk Deighton Rangers in the Harrogate League.

Kirk Deighton settled into the game first and led 3-0 by half-time, and it was 4-0 a minute after the restart, despite Otley's half-time changes.

Otley then settled and put pressure on Kirk Deighton's, Jamie Cottle getting the hosts' only goal.

Otley hit the crossbar, an upright and had a header cleared off the line but could not convert their chances, with Kirk Deighton finishing the scoring in the last minute. However, Otley's heads never went down, showing good promise for the rest of the season.

Town's under-13s drew 4-4 at Wetherby but they could have had more than a point if they'd stayed in control after taking a 3-0 lead thanks to a Crossfield hat-trick.

However, Wetherby, with a strong wind behind them, came back with four goals in 15 minutes to take the lead before a fine passing move saw Eley slot home for a more than deserved equaliser.

Otley, who hit the bar twice in the dying moments, are at home to Killinghall on Sunday.

Town took a deserved lead after 20 minutes of their under-14 clash at Glasshoughton. Otley gained possession in midfield and spread the ball quickly to the left wing. Several passes followed before the ball was cut across the opposition's box, where it was met on the run by Sam Ostrowski, who placed his shot hard and high into the top corner.

Town continued to push and were rewarded early in the second half with a second goal, Ashar Bhogul pressurising the imposing keeper before forcing the ball home from a long free-kick.

Within minutes, an identical free-kick, again taken by the outstanding Matt Burke at centre half, resulted in a third goal, which, to the surprise of both sides, was ruled out for offside.

The disappointment unsettled Town which allowed Glasshoughton to push forward and level the score.

Shortly afterwards, Otley's keeper Joe Bumby was injured and unable to carry on. Town readjusted but they were unable to gain momentum as the home team imposed their advantage.

Otley Town Under-15s, who will be in Division B, have been warming up for the new campaign with a series of friendly games.

Having been promoted last season, manager Kai Arter and new assistant Andy Colburn are targeting promotion again.

After a defeat to high-lying Farsley Celtic, in which Otley put up a spirited and determined performance, games against fellow Division B teams, Ilkley and Pool, resulted in solid victories. Ilkley were beaten 5-2 at home before a 10-0 victory against Pool.

The new league season kicks off on Sunday with a trip to Boroughbridge. Manager Kai Arter is still looking to add to the squad in specific positions. Any players who are interested can contact him on 07970-08862.
