3:40pm Monday 29th October 2007 in Guiseley By Sportsdesk
A last-minute penalty saw Guiseley take all three UniBond Premier Division points from their struggling visitors and it was nothing less than they deserved.
It was not a match of massive incident but it was one that bubbled away on a low heat to keep everyone interested.
Both benches, the two sets of players and all supporters would have felt any outcome was possible right until the final whistle.
The home side had a couple of early chances but Ferriby took the lead through talisman Gary Bradshaw on the half-hour.
Guiseley rued their luck, or lack of it, before the break. Dominic Krief had a shot tipped over, a later effort from skipper Richard Dunning hit the bar and a Mark Bett attempt was cleared off the line.
A similar pattern developed in the second half but Bett finally pegged a goal back for the home side. Good work from captain Richard Dunning, leading by example, created the opening and Bett finished well.
Simon Sturdy, Krief, James Hanson and Mark Smith, who like Bett had joined the fray from the bench, all went close to putting Guiseley ahead.
The last-gasp penalty added to the tension as Smith was fouled and Krief stepped up to beat the Ferriby keeper from 12 yards.
