5:47pm Monday 15th October 2007 in Guiseley By Rachel O'Connor
If Guiseley are to realise their promotion aspirations this season then they will have to raise their game to another level on the evidence of the fluid and controlled football that earned Vauxhall Motors a place in the fourth qualifying round.
Vauxhall showed their class to pull themselves in front after going a goal behind and then claimed victory off the last kick of the match. James Hanson put Guiseley ahead on 26 minutes as he latched on to Rob Pell's astute ball and fired under the advancing Shaun Lake. The dangerous Paul Taylor scurried across the 18 yard line before slipping a ball to Tom Field who shot across Steve Dickinson into the far corner of the net on the hour.
Taylor was again the provider as his cross-cum-shot rolled along the bar and dropped for Anthony Wright to convert the easiest of chances on 71 minutes.
The home side equalised when a pass struck the referee and fell kindly for Mark Bett who laid on a ball for Dominic Krief to fire superbly beyond Lake. And just as it seemed the game was heading for a replay Taylor scampered through a static home defence, and despite Dickinson forcing him wide, netted the winner.
