Guiseley have signed former Leeds United and England U-19s midfielder Simon Walton and he will go straight into caretaker manager Adam Lockwood’s squad for Saturday’s home game against Woking.
The Sherburn-in-Elmet born player, 28, was a free agent after making 37 appearances for Crawley Town in League Two last season.
His record of over 250 Football League appearances since starting out in the youth teams at Elland Road also includes stints with Charlton, Queens Park Rangers, Plymouth Argyle, Hartlepool United and Stevenage.
These were interspersed with loan spells at Ipswich, Cardiff, Hull City, Blackpool, Crewe and Sheffield United.
His sister Sophie, a Women’s Premier League and Super League player, was an England international.
