AFTER an extended run of away games in the National League, Guiseley are back at Nethermoor tonight but they could hardly have had tougher opposition on their return home.

Forest Green Rovers are the visitors and they retained second place at the weekend after a 2-1 win at home against Eastleigh. Ady Pennock’s Rovers are in fine form and have lost just one of their last ten league games.

Since that 4-1 defeat at Torquay United, the Gloucester outfit have banked 25 points from a possible 27 in a run that sees them just four points behind neighbouring title rivals Cheltenham Town.

Tonight begins a run of four home games on the trot for the Lions and boss Mark Bower is urging his players to make the most of them. They are looking for the win to push them through the 40-point barrier and increase their six-point cushion from the drop zone.

Farsley Celtic are also in action as they host play-off rivals Burscough in the Evo-Stik Division One North. Farsley had a wasted journey to Witton Albion at the weekend after their game was called off but victory tonight would take them above their seventh-placed visitors on goal difference.

It is a big night also for Silsden as they travel to National League North title chasers Harrogate Town for a West Riding County Cup semi-final. The Cobbydalers earned their first point of James Gill’s reign on Saturday at Runcorn Town but tonight's hosts were thrashing FC United of Manchester 5-0 to remain second in their table.

Thackley are at home to Pontefract Collieries in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division, while rock-bottom Liversedge are finally hoping to end their home exile against Clipstone, having not played at Clayborn since October.
