MARK Bower faces one of his most difficult selection choices of the season on Saturday.

His second-placed Guiseley team gave what was almost a complete performance last weekend in winning 3-0 at Stockport County in Vanarama Conference North, and only had ten men for almost half the match after the dismissal of Shane Killock.

Bower might be tempted to leave well alone were it not for the fact that Wayne Brooksby and Danny Lowe are back from suspension.

"It is a nice headache to have," admitted the Lions boss before they face fourth-placed Conference North side Chorley at Nethermoor in the first round of the FA Trophy.

Bower added: "Both clubs who came up from the Evo-Stik Premier Division last season – AFC Fylde and Chorley – are doing really well.

"Fylde (promoted through the play-offs) like to get it down and pass it along the floor, while Chorley (champions) are more direct and more physical, but they have some good players too.

"However, if we play how we have been doing recently, then we will win more than we lose."

Bower was purring after the victory at Edgeley Park, where the red card for central defender Killock might have made Guiseley alter their formation but certainly didn't affect their confidence.

The Lions boss said: "People say that we played better with ten men than 11 but if we had put away the chances we created we would have been 3-0 or 4-0 up by half-time.

"Also the back four of Killock, Danny Ellis, Ryan Toulson and Ben Parker are playing well.

"Jake Lawlor, who has been doing well in midfield, dropped back into defence after the dismissal, and shone there, while Danny Boshell and Andy Holdsworth, who we brought on for Nicky Boshell, played in front of our defence and nicked the ball when they could.

"Then we had Oli Johnson, Gavin Rothery and Adam Boyes up front, and they are always likely to get you a goal.

"Oli may have got the headlines after two assists and a goal but he has some good players around him too."
