BATTLING Guiseley emerged from Fleetwood with all three points despoite playing most of the game with ten men and having to fight back from being a goal down.

Fleetwood were looking comfortable at 1-0 up against a side reduced in numbers as half-time approached.

However, an individual goal by Gavin Knight in the 42nd minute put Guiseley back in the frame.

Guiseley had an early chance when Knight was stopped by a last-ditch tackle.

Midway through the first-half they suffered a severe blow. In the 20th minute, young defender Danny Ellis could not believe it when he was shown a red card for the first serious challenge of the game.

Within minutes, as Terry Dolan's men re-organised, Fleetwood took the lead.

Knight was claiming a foul on himself when the decision went against him and the home side were given a free-kick.

As the ball was driven in, Fleetwood's Andy Bell was on the post to turn the ball in and Guiseley's 'quiet man' 'keeper Steve Dickinson was enraged enough to remonstrate that the Town man was in an offside position.

Again new signing Mark Bett was named on the bench along with the recovering Rob Pell and young midfielder Craig Hall.

Teenager James Hanson was handed another chance up front with Knight and Scott Jackson but it was Knight who looked in red hot form forging a series of chances.

A determined Guiseley came out in the second-half and made little of their numerical disadvantage.

Knight threatened a second,Jackson forced saves from the home 'keeper and the two combined to create the winner for young midfielder Liam Green who has had his loan spell at Guiseley extended.

Good inter-play between the two strikers carved open the west coast side's defence to put Green, on loan from Doncaster Rovers, one-on-one with the 'keeper and the youngster coolly tucked a shot under him to put Guiseley 2-1 up.

That was in the 64th and it killed off the home side who found that they could not respond to adversity as Guiseley had.

In fact, there were more chances for the visitors. Knight and James Hanson both put shots just wide of the target when well-placed.

In the very last minute, Han-son missed out on opening his account for when he rounded the 'keeper but rolled the ball just the wrong side of the post.
