Stalybridge Celtic 1 Guiseley 3
THE Lions clawed their way back into the play-off frame in Vanarama Conference North last night with what turned out to be a comfortable win.
Stalybridge Celtic have always proved to be a difficult side to beat and have a good record against Guiseley. Last night the boot was on the other foot as the Lions dominated.
Danny Boshell scored from the edge of the area to give the visitors a 17th-minute lead and Jake Lawlor doubled their advantage before the break when he shot home following a Boshell corner.
The contest was over early in second half when Adam Boyes netted Guiseley’s third after collecting a good through ball from skipper Ben Parker.
The latter stages were fragmented by substitutions but the home side hit back through Bradford-born winger Aiden Chippendale.
The three points took the Lions through the 20-point barrier and up to fifth place.
