Nine-man Bardsey snatch late equaliser in a game of three red cards

Bardsey 2 Pool 2

Three players saw red in an eventful match at Bardsey.

In the closing minutes the nine men of Bardsey scored an equaliser against the ten of Pool to snatch a point.

It was tough luck on a weakened Pool side who put up a brave battle against opponents who currently lie fourth in the Premier Div- ision.

The signs looked ominous for the Pool when Bardsey capped a lively start with a goal.

Pool needed a couple of fine saves from keeper Andy Caine to stay in contention.

His efforts seemed to spur on Pool who equalised when a free kick hit a post and rebounded into the net off a Bardsey defender.

By the second half Bardsey were down to ten men following the first sending off.

Pool took full advantage and went ahead when Josh Waite put an excellent ball through to Sam McCaffrey who beat his marker, and fired a superb shot into the corner of the net.

Bardsey then seemed to have gifted the points to Pool when they had a second player red carded, but Pool failed to capitalise on the extra space.

The dismissal actually seemed to lift Bardsey and Cain was forced to make some more good saves.

When Pool had McCaffrey sent off after a second yellow card, Bardsey levelled when their main striker was left unmarked to head in.
