Hall Green United 2 Pool 1
DEFEAT leaves Pool clinging on to West Yorkshire Premier Division survival by a thread.
It all started so well as Pool looked the better team for much of the first half as they created several chances.
Hall Green were strong on the break and forced Pool keeper Andrew Doey to make a couple of vital blocks.
A goal-line clearance prevented Pool from taking the lead before Joe Garner-Currie opened the scoring. He placed his shot well to give the visitors the advantage going into the second half.
Hall Green came out fired up and were soon level via a close-range header.
They continued to press the Pool defence which held together doggedly to weather the storm.
A second yellow card for the Hall Green centre back saw them reduced to ten men as Pool pressed.
Hall Green had a good penalty shout turned down before snatching the match-winning goal after Pool's attempt to play offside failed.
Pool can only blame themselves for this defeat, and now have a mountain to climb if they are to survive.
