GOALKEEPER David MacDonald was the match-winner as Pool won a penalty shoot-out to knock their Premier Division rivals out of the League Cup.
Pool looked doomed when Trojans netted their first two penalties while they missed both theirs.
Trojans failed to cash in and missed their next two spot kicks while Pool drew level by netting theirs before Adam Dean smashed the ball into the net to make it 3-2.
MacDonald sealed Pool’s passage to the semi-finals when he saved the final Trojans penalty.
The keeper had also made a number of key saves in normal time as Pool fought back after conceding an early goal to draw level with an Ian Smith strike.
In extra time there were few chances and the match went into the penalty shoot-out.
