DANNY McGee has left Keighley’s players in no doubt about their performances last weekend in Yorkshire Division One.

They defeated second-placed Old Brodleians 26-21 at Rose Cottage, and head coach Mc Gee said: “It was our most pleasing win so far this season and we put long periods of play together, but I want that to be a marker for the rest of the season.”

Keighley, who are up to fourth, face Halifax opposition for the second successive weekend in travelling to Heath, who are third from bottom.

Four points and one place above Heath are BRADFORD SALEM, who are at Selby, who are two places but only one point better off.

The Heaton club are without centre Dean Pearce (hamstring), forward Louis Chaudron (shoulder) and flanker or centre Conor Wood (ankle), and also have lock John Morrell, centre Harry Hall and winger Nick Fontaine unavailable.

Back, however, is winger Kodie Brook, who scored a try in the 28-21 victory at Heath three weeks ago.

OTLEY’S director of rugby Peter Clegg did not beat about the bush when reflecting on their 27-15 defeat at bottom club Hinckley last weekend in National League Two North.

"We were rubbish but we are missing ten first-choice players and I have faced this many times before.

"Other clubs go through it and it is just something that we will have to work through.

"All that we can do is put the strongest team out that we can and hope for the best, but this is a league where anybody can beat anybody.

"Look at Harrogate beating Stourbridge at home one week and then losing at home to Scunthorpe the next."

Otley, who are 12th, are at home to eighth-placed Tynedale on Saturday, while Yorkshire Division Three leaders Baildon are at Knottingley.
