Hemsworth 18 Aireborough 19

AIREBOROUGH recovered from a slow start to secure their third Yorkshire Three win in a row.

Hemsworth generated early pressure and were rewarded when their number eight crashed over for a converted try.

Aireborough worked their way back into the game through the efforts of their pack, but silly mistakes prevented them from scoring as they reached half-time 7-0 down.

Several penalties were conceded by Hemsworth at the start of the second half and that gave Aire a great platform to work off.

Half backs Stu Wilson and Ollie Catherall capitalised on good line-out ball to send Luke Exley charging over for a try which Nick Holdsworth converted to level the scores.

After some silly ill discipline in the ruck, centre Holdsworth spoke out of turn and the kick was advanced ten metres 10 metres to the delight of the Hemsworth full back who landed the kick.

Aire responded with their second try. Chris Chapman turned over line-out ball just inside the Hemsworth half.

Slick passing put centre Liam Cree into space. With some lovely footwork he created the opening for winger Rob Johnson to score a try.

Hemsworth came back at Aireborough and only great work from Thomas Copsey and Stu Wilson saved a guaranteed try.

Brought back for an offside penalty, Hemsworth chose the scrum, with their number eight picking and going wide, to edge his side 15-12 ahead.

That lead was extended when a penalty was awarded for a scrum offence.

Aireborough needed a converted score and went hunting for one.

With the Hemsworth players tiring Alan Justham drew the full back and put Chris Chapman in for a try which Holdsworth converted

Hemsworth had one last chance to wrest the game from Aireborough's grasp, but a 40-metre penalty drifted wide.
