Holmes looks to burn up Virgina track

ILKLEY racing driver Chris Holmes is heading to Virginia, USA, for the second race of the Skip Barber Championship
Holmes heads back across the Atlantic for the second race on the historic Virginia International Raceway near the North Carolina border in Danville.
It is considered one of the most challenging road courses in the United States.
Having proved himself a speedy addition to the competitive American series in the opening round at Sebring in March, Chris is keen this coming weekend to ensure his excellent qualifying pace can translate into solid race finishes.
The local American commentators have already marked the Yorkshireman as one to watch in the Championship which boasts a fully funded drive in the 2009 Star Mazda series worth over £175,000 for the Champion.
"The Virginia Raceway looks very interesting," said Chris, "and one I look forward to learning and racing on. I'm aiming for a healthy points haul this weekend.
"It has been tough to raise the sponsorship required to make the race but in comparison to the cost of the British series, and taking into account the strong pound, we feel this really is the best way forward for my driving ambitions.
"Because of these reasons I think the American paddocks can expect a continued British invasion for a while longer!"
To ensure Chris' continued participation he continues to invite sponsors and interested parties can call Chris directly on 07802 324173 for an informal chat on the many opportunities available.
Chris's season can be followed on his website www.chrisholmesracing.com
