Town Mayor salutes sports teams

OTLEY Town Mayor Coun Jim Spencer saluted the achievements of two of the town’s teams at a Civic Reception in Otley Civic Centre on Monday evening. Coun Spencer paid tribute to the efforts of Otley RUFC who won became champions of National League Two and gained promotion back to National One after just one season. He also paid tribute to Otley Town AFC who not only won Division One of the West Yorkshire League to gain promotion to the Premier Division but also carried off the Wharfedale FA Challenge Cup. Members of the two clubs enjoyed cheese and wine as they mingled together to share their successes.
