Liverpool 0 Ben Rhydding 0

Ben Rhydding produced another competent perform- ance to earn their second Women’s North Conference point.

Once again they dominated most of the possession and had goal scoring opportunities but could not find the killer touch in front of goal.

Whenever Liverpool built an attack the Ben Rhydding defence coped well.

Goalie Kim Robinson was not unduly not troubled but did make a couple of good saves when called upon.

Jess Purvis and Sarah Bell, who are getting stronger and better each week, caused havoc down the right of midfield and supplied forwards Rachel Doherty and Kate Hesketh with some quality balls into the D.

Liverpool threw all hands to the pump and defended in numbers.

Eleanor Trafford and Amy Wilson went close to scoring in the first half but were denied by some good goal- keeping.

The second half saw even more attacking from the Ben Rhydding midfield and forwards.

Unfortunately got them the Liverpool goalkeeper played a stormer and saved everything that was thrown at her.

Jodie Bridger and Rachelle le Bourdon in the heart of the pitch controlled the game.and Jo Taylor at right defence was allowed space and freedom to attack confidently high up the pitch.

Despite coming close from several penalty corners the ball was saved and would just not cross the line for visitors.
