Old Otliensians 6 Bingley Bees 1

After drawing against Skipton on Saturday, Otliensians were determined to improve their performance against Bingley Bees the following day.

This performance earned Otliensians a well-deserved promotion to the Premiership. Otliensians started confidently and soon scored withy a clinical finish from Maggie Simpson. They continued to push forward as a team and consequently scored their second with a Sarina Corney goal. Otliensians then sat back and allowed Bingley to come on the attack, resulting in their first goal. Strong defending from Otliensians kept Bingley at bay until half-time. After a request from the captain at half-time for more goals and to ease the pressure on defence, the team didn’t let her down. A cross from Hayley Robinson found Simpson, who banged in Otliensians’ third goal. A pass from defence found Corney, who crossed early for a spectacular Claire Brook finish. Otliensians’ fifth goal came when Robinson and Simpson combined again to round off a sublime performance by Simpson achieving her hat-trick. Otliensians finished off their goal-scoring spree with Crystal Gale knocking in their sixth goal.
