Kittrick confident Guiseley will reach play-offs

GUISELEY manager Steve Kittrick is confident his side can reach the promotion play-offs with just five games remaining, one against leaders Witton Albion.
His side battled for a good point at second-placed Fleetwood last Saturday and then saw Tuesday night's game at Leek Town called off.
This was something of a blessing in disguise for Kittrick who had two or three players likely to be out of contention with injury.
Midfielder Lee Pugh is also set to miss this Saturday's home game with Hednesford after having an ingrowing toenail removed and it becoming infected. Jonathan Fernandez and Sean Taylforth picked up niggling knocks at Fleetwood but they should be fit for Saturday.
Kittrick said: "It was something of a relief for the Leek game to be off as their pitch resembles a ploughed field and if it was very wet it would not have suited our style of play."
Kittrick was pleased with the performance of his new signing Lee Crooks at Fleetwood. He said: "Lee was playing Premiership football not so long ago and he will add the experience we need in midfield. He has not played at non-league level before and he thanked the lads for looking after him and helping him through his first game but I think his experience will tell over the vital last few games."
After Hednesford those games are Leek (away), Witton Albion (away), Worksop (away) and Kendal (home).
Kittrick said: "Fleetwood, Leek and Hednesford all present different feelings. Fleetwood were in second place trying to take over at the top, Leek are battling against relegation and Hednesford will be seeking revenge for the 5-2 defeat we inflicted on them a couple of weeks ago.
"We just have to keep on picking up points, especially in the home games. Our best form has been away from home but we need the crowd to get behind us at Nethermoor in these last two home games to give us that boost we need to make the play-offs. It is all in our own hands."
