Damon Gormley produced a match-winning performance as Yeadon secured a four-wicket win at Idle.

He took 4-18 as Idle were bowled out for 91 and then steered his side to victory with 31 not out.

Yeadon’s second team had mixed fortunes at the weekend.

They defeated leaders Farsley on Saturday to boost their hopes of winning the Second Teams Division One title, but suffered a seven-wicket defeat against Methley in Monday’s Crowther Cup final.

Danny Hall made 70 as Yeadon overhauled Farsley’s 217-7 despite some good bowling from Robert Thornton (6-48).

Paul Machell was Yeadon’s most impressive bowler with 3-69.

Against Methley Dave Machell (81) and Carl Heptinstall (44) helped their side to post a score of 250-8, but the Central Yorkshire side knocked off the runs with 15 balls to spare.

Danny Wilbur was voted man of the match after scoring 77 off 88 balls while opener Greg Johnson scored 83 and skipper Andy Ward made an unbeaten 42 to seal his side’s win.
