Inconsistent Yeadon are beaten by three runs

Yeadon’s inconsistent form continues to dog their hopes of a top-half finish in Division Two.

They suffered a three-run defeat at Bankfoot on Saturday despite looking the likely winners when they had the home side in trouble at 87-6.

But they couldn’t press home their advantage and the home side recovered to make 180-8 with Micky Hutchins making 48 Yeadon also experienced early problems when they replied on a pitch which assisted the bowlers.

They plunged to 48-5 before Ben Elvidge (52) and Damon Gormley (42) revived their hope with a sixth-wicket stand of 88.

Once they departed the experienced Nigel Hanson (4-32) and Greg Colehan (3-40) sparked a decline which saw Yeadon lose their last five wickets for 41 runs.

They were eventually all out for 177.
