Yeadon’s batting faltered badly as they suffered a seven-wicket defeat at home to Division Two leaders Saltaire.

A total of 122 was never going to be enough to seriously test a Saltaire side that is currently playing with great confidence.

Left-hander Kasir Maroof was again the best of the Yeadon batsmen with 48.

He battled hard but the only other batsman to resist for long was James Todd (28).

Spinners Azhar Sharif (3-32) and Ijaz Khan (3-44) sparked the Yeadon collapse.

The last seven wickets fell for 65 runs.

Saltaire were never in any danger once openers Sharif and Muhammad Saeed had added 46.

The in-form Fahid Rehman (36no) sped Saltaire to their victory target.

Yeadon have dropped to seventh and will be hoping for a win away to bottom team Windhill on Saturday.
