Green Lane were dismissed for just 20 against leaders Thackley as they continued to drop deeper into the relegation mire.

Their last six wickets fell without a run being scored as Mahir Ali (6-10) and Nasser Jamal (4-5) caused havoc.

Green Lane’s only consol- ation on a miserable after- noon was the fact that their total was not the lowest in Aire-Wharfe history.

That dubious distinction still belongs to Horsforth who were dismissed for just eight against Knaresborough in 1973.

Thackley lost three wick- ets getting to their target which means that the match aggregate of 43 runs in a new league record.

The previous low was 53 in the match between Hors- forth and Guiseley in 1942.

The result leaves Green Lane just four points above the relegation zone with four games to go.

In view of the alarming dip in their fortunes they can’t be looking forward to what looks a testing programme.

They are at home to in-form Kirkstall on Saturday before visiting Otley on August 27.

Their last two fixtures are Bilton away and Collingham home.

They will be casting more than a few anxious glances over their shoulders at the results of Adel in the final weeks of the season.

Kirkstall, Green Lane’s next opponents, are six points behind leaders Thack- ley after beating Adel by 33 runs.

Otley’s title hopes hit the buffers when they went down to Burley by one wicket in a tight finish.

Waddilove Cup final hero Dan Meredith picked up 5-25 as Otley were bowled out for 121.Sam Smith top scored with 37.

Burley struggled against the accuracy of Stewart Dobson (7-52) but their last pair of Shane Etherington and Meredith managed to put on 27 to clinch the win. Meredith finished unbeaten on 25.

That allowed Guiseley to take over third spot, 13 points off the pace, after they picked up five points at Rawdon.

Skipper Dave Pennett hit a sparkling 100 and was supported by Robert Butter- field (49) as Guiseley compiled a total of 223-8.

Former Nottinghamshire player Pennett followed up with 5-38 as he and Abid Awan (4-30) made Rawdon struggle.

Once again their skipper Andrew Doidge stood firm scoring 42as they held out for a point.

That leaves Rawdon still odds on to go down with Adel, Green Lane and Collingham battling to avoid the second spot.

Steeton and Ben Rhydding are in pole position to replace them after both picked up wins in Division Two while third placed Knaresborough slipped up at North Leeds.

Jonathan Best (4-52), Ross Suri (3-31) and Gary Boulton (3-44) bowled out Olicanian for 137 in which Dylan Robertson scored 57 before Shane McNamara (60) and Neil Spragg (35no) guided Steeton to a four-wicket win.

Adam Campion hit a half century in Menston’s 163 but Jason Wright (52) and Charlie Swallow (48) top scored as Ben Rhydding moved closer to a second successive promotion.

Tong Park Esholt are a step nearer to going down after Pool passed their 108 total with nine wickets to spare.

Menston are six points above them with Upper Wharfedale and Calverley, who also lost, still in danger of relegation.

Faheem Bedford was the undoubted star of the show as Hall Park completed the double over neighbours Horsforth in a match that almost saw the visitors back in the record books for the wrong reasons.

Bedford scored 68 of Park’s 145 with Matthew Bates (5-28) and Mark Thomas (4-6) doing the damage.

Horsforth should have been on a high after ending Silsden’s winning run but with Bedford producing a 15-over spell of 7-20, they slumped to 5-4, and were 18-8 before staggering to 57 all out.

That raised Park hopes of getting out of the bottom two, but Skipton notched their second win in a row to stay eight points clear.

Henry Barrow top scored with a half century in Addingham's 184-9 but a century from Graham Summersgill that included 16 fours and a six, and an unbeaten 67 from Keiran Williams saw Skipton home by eight wickets.

Andy Wheeler picked up three cheap wickets as New Rover were dismissed for 85 and Jake Bezzant was unbeaten on 29 as Ilkley eased to a victory that keeps them within six points of the promotion places.
