RAIN denied Burley the chance of unseating leaders Beckwithshaw but they did reduce the gap to nine points by picking up three more bonus points than their rivals in Aire-Wharfe League Division One.

Burley were struggling at 26-4 but then Daniel Revis (74no) was joined by Jason Wright and the pair put on 156 for the fifth wicket.

Wright smashed seven fours and eight sixes in racing to his century in 66 balls.

Burley ended at 233-6 off their 38 overs and Beckwithshaw were on 50-2 when the game was abandoned.

Without yet hitting top form, Otley are picking up wins and moved up to third with a two-wicket win over Ilkley.

James Davies took 6-38 as Ilkley were bowled out for 136 in which tail-enders Rob Spivey (52) and Dave Pennett (25) made the most telling contributions.

Spivey (3-59) and Henry Wilson (4-41) made the reply uncomfortable for Otley but Davies (41) and Sam Kellett (34no) made sure of the victory.

Pool had to thank Patrick Dixon (71) for their 152 total as the batting struggled against the accuracy of Collingham’s Toby Jacklin (6-42), but then Ryan Sharrocks (5-8) and Lee Platts (4-14) skittled the home side out for 73 to send Pool up to fourth.

Bradley Reeve (5-21) restricted Colton to 123, and Marcus Berryman (59) led Rawdon’s successful run chase.

Horsforth’s woes continued when they became North Leeds’s first victims and dropped below their opponents into bottom spot.

Horsforth struggled to 146, with the main contribution coming from 33 wides before Ryan Scott followed up three cheap wickets with a match-winning 64.

In Division Two, Rob Withers picked up 6-71 as Follifoot were bowled out for 208 but Ben Rhydding’s batting form deserted them for once, with only Shane Wineti, Robbie Miller and 'Mr Extras' getting into double figures as they crashed out for 71.

With Christian Slinger (66) and Nigel Martyn (36) passing a hundred partnership and threatening to take Leeds Modernians to a high total, Steeton’s James Emmott struck, removing both of them and the last man in a six-ball spell to give him 6-50.

Bradley Akrigg (29) and Tom Stead (38) led the response and Emmott weighed in with 31 in 25 balls, and the game was on a knife-edge with Steeton on 174-9 when it was abandoned.

Skipton’s match was much shorter, Majid Inayat (42no) and Adam Hardwick (28no) taking them to 94-2 against Thackley before the rain arrived.

Hall Park were the latest victims of leaders Adel, with Richard Mumford taking 7-47 as Park were dismissed for 95 in reply to the visitors’ 155-9.

Howard Johnson smashed a six off the last available ball to give St Chads Broomfield a one-wicket win over Division Three leaders Olicanian.

In a match reduced to 27 overs per side, David Healey (34) and Tom Smallwood (28no) helped Olicanian to 155-6, and it looked as though they would squeeze the victory until Johnson opened his shoulders to hit his third six in his 31-run innings.

Olicanian remain top, eight points ahead of Saltaire, whose match was abandoned with New Rover on 132-6 in reply to Saltaire’s 193-9 in which Adeel Ashraf (45) and Fayez Akram (38no) were the main contributors.

Waleed Akhtar (82) top-scored in Green Lane’s 188-6, and they looked to have things sewn up when Bardsey limped to 119-7, but Josh Hughes (31) and Sami Manjrekar (28no) put on 59. Neil Britton (4-43) removed Hughes just in time, and Lane squeaked home by six runs.

Opener Rohaan Butt hit a half-century in Bolton Villas' 186 before Junaid Bashir followed up a useful knock of 27 with 4-33 and, with Sam Lawrence (3-15), bowled out Menston for 133, Doug Bradley making 59.
