TALENTED cricketer Harry Brook is heading off on international duty next month.

The 17-year-old batsman from Burley-in-Wharfedale is travelling to Dubai for a three-week England under-19 train ing camp.

Brook, who is a student at Sedbergh School, will be joined on the trip by fellow Yorkshire player Ed Barnes from Knaresborough.

It will be no walk in the park for Brook and his colleagues as team manager Andy Hurry is a former Fitness Instructor in the Royal Marines.

Brook, who made his First Class debut for Yorkshire in June against Pakistan A, enjoyed a highly-successful 2016 season.

His performances with the Yorkshire Second XI and the Academy impressed all the county coaches and earned him the coveted Dickie Bird Foundation award.

Brook said: "I am looking forward to playing in different conditions with temperatures of 30 degrees. This will make it very hard especially batting in the heat for a long time.

"It will be a fantastic experience where I'll have to concentrate more. Also batting on wickets with different pace, spin and bounce to the usual English wicket! I can't wait, it's going to be a challenge.”
