Thackley will be full of confidence when they tackle North Leeds on Saturday in their quest to ensure their stay in Aire-Wharfe League Division Two lasts no more than a season.

After losing two of their first four matches, they have regrouped with three straight wins, and last weekend climbed to second in the table after inflicting a first defeat of the season on leaders Knaresborough, followed by knocking Division One Steeton out of the Waddilove Cup.

North Leeds have dropped to fourth after picking up only two points in each of their last three matches, including against bottom side Calverley, and with Majid Khan and brothers Yasser and Mahir Ali in top form, Thackley should strengthen their claim as promotion favourites.

Rawdon also had a stellar weekend, skittling out Tong Park Esholt for 88 then producing a giant-killing cup win over Pool, and they will expect nothing less than full points at struggling Bardsey.

Calverley travel to Ilkley in search of that elusive first win, while Tong Park Esholt and Bolton Villas will be hoping to put some distance between themselves and the basement scrap but both face tough matches against Adel and Green Lane.

Defeat by Division One leaders Beckwithshaw last week leaves Burley trailing their rivals by 14 points.

They know that nothing less than a win is enough on Saturday when they travel to faltering Guiseley because Beckwithshaw look certain to take full points against bottom side Follifoot.

Harden, who have shown signs that they might have what it takes to escape from the bottom two, travel to Ben Rhydding, who are looking for a third straight win, while fourth-placed Otley should stay up with the chasing pack by beating Bilton.

Steeton need to bounce back after that shock cup exit and three league games that have yielded only two points but they won’t find it easy against a Collingham side that are finally showing the type of form that won them the title last year.

Division Three front-runners Horsforth and Skipton, locked together on 34 points, face tricky- looking matches.

Horsforth are at fourth-placed Addingham, who will be determined to get back on track after last weekend’s thrashing by Upper Wharfedale.

Skipton are at New Rover, an inconsistent team but one always capable of racking up a big score.

Menston and Hall Park, who each took two points off the top two last week, slug it out, while Silsden will try to ease away from the basement group but won’t find it easy against Olicanian, who are undefeated in their last five matches.
