Olicanians bowler bags trophy
THE Airedale and Wharfedale Cricket League averages for 2007 see Collingham's Eugene Burzler carrying off the top batting prize with 896 runs at an average of 56.00. Pool's Attiba Allert bagged the Division 1 bowling prize with 74 wickets at 13.97 apiece.
Matthew King of Harden won the Division 2 batting with 781 runs at 60.08 with former Notts pacemen David Pennett picking up his first trophy on his return to his first club Guiseley CC with the Division 2 bowling prize with 61 wickets at 10.16 each.
In Division 3 the batting prize went to David Corcoran of Olicanians with 948 runs at 67.7 and the bowling prize to Skipton spinner Ajay Rajput with 60 wickets at 11.15.
The wicketkeeping prize goes to Burley's Richard Brook with 37 victims ahead of Otley's David Taylor with 31 and Rawdon's Jamie Pickering with 30. Pickering won the Under-20 batting prize with 607 runs at an average of 43.36.
The Under-20 bowling prize has been won by Beckwithshaw's James Lilley with 41 wickets at 17.73 each. The Ellicott Fielding Trophy has been won by Beckwithshaw's Stuart Carey who had 13 points.
For the Second Teams Guiseley's Glen Taylor won the Division 1 batting prize with 590 runs at an average of 59.00 with Steeton's Phil Akrigg picking up the bowling prize with 47 wickets at 12.68 apiece.
The Division 2 batting prize goes to Burley's Ian Normington with 619 runs at an average of 103.16 and the bowling prize to Pool's Chris Wilkinson with 41 wickets at 11.87.
In Division 3 Addingham's Neil Freeman picks up the batting prize with 606 runs at 67.34and Geoff Weir of Alwoodey, the bowling prize with 66 wickets at 9.14 each.
The wicketkeeping prize has gone to Steeton's Julian Higginson and the fielding prize to Karl Bennett (Bolton Villas) and Daniel Bott (Ilkley).
Third team awards go to: Batting - David Hardcastle (Bilton); Bowling - Richard Graves (Horsforth); Wicketkeeping - Thomas Monks (Horsforth); Fielding - Mark Portlock (Harden).
