Ice and snow decimated the local sporting programme.

All soccer, rugby union, amateur rugby league and hockey fixtures were called off.

It was the first blank weekend of the winter and followed a week of severe frosts.

The biggest casualty was Guiseley's FA Trophy third round clash at Cambridge which was called off after a pitch inspection on Friday.
