Jonathan Brownlee was an emphatic winner of the annual Chevin Chase at Guiseley on Boxing Day The ITU World Championship Series triathlon silver medallist defended his title in a time of 37min 58sec.
The Bramhope star's triumph was made somewhat easier by the absence of his older brother Alistair in the 900-strong field, who was running in today’s Ribble Valley 10K.
The Brownlees – members of Bingley Harriers Athletics Club – have dominated the race in recent years, with triathlon world champion Alistair triumphing in 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Jonathan said: “I’m delighted to win as this is a great race and the support is always excellent. It has become a tradition to run in it.”
There was also success for Otley's Racheal Bamford in the women's race.
