JACK Wood continued his fine form this season with a fourth-placed finish in the Three Peaks race.

He completed the hilly course in just two hours, 59 minutes and 35 seconds on Saturday.

Wood came fifth last year too, and next year he will perhaps feel that he can mount an assault on the title.

There were other strong results for the Harriers in the race, which was contested by over 700 runners. Dan Wilkinson came home inside the top 100, securing 99th with his time of 3.45.31.

Ian Gibbons crossed the line 167th overall, in 3.56.25, while Steve Turland and Michael Lomas also both completed the 23-mile race in under four hours.

Alison Weston was the first female Ilkley Harriers runner to finish the race, with a time of 4.48.19.

Meanwhile, Jack Cummings had a storming run to come first at the Dick Hudson’s fell race, which is run over seven miles.

On a track with no set route, which allows competitors stay on the main track or cut across the hillside, Cummings plotted his race well to win with a time of 46 minutes and 51 seconds.

Nathan Edmondson and Steven Gott finished in fourth and seventh place for the Harriers, recording times of 49.20 and 50.02 respectively.

Daniel Lane, Dave Foyston, Helen Thurston, John Hayes and Helen Wood also completed the course in under an hour.

Peter Shields was in great form at the Bradford 10k on Sunday and he finished first in the V70 category, finishing in 49.30.

The top Ilkley Harriers performer overall during the race was Steve Murray, who finished 107th in 41.20, while Rhys Jones and Adrian Bastow were not far behind with times of 41.49 and 42.04 respectively.

It was a chilly night for the Evensplits 5k series at the Brownlee Centre where there were some great times all round.

Dave Westhead was the top Harriers performer, finishing 18th in 18.09.

Rob Budding also finished in just under 20 minutes (19.57), coming home in 64th place.

At the multi-terrain Fountains 10k near Ripon, there was some great performances by the veteran Ilkley runners.

Jonathan Turner came 15th overall and fourth MV40 in 41.09.

Further back, Tracy Watson was the third FV50 with her time of 52.19, while Hilda Coulsey was second FV60, finishing in 55.57.

Caroline Howe secured her place in the top 100 in the race, coming 80th by recording a time of 48.42.

It was a wet and windy evening at the Filton Flyer for Adrian Hall, who went to this 5k race near Bristol. He performed well, crossing the line in 21st place with 19.39.

Meanwhile, Alex Hirst came fourth in the Cardiff 5k Parkrun with an impressive time of 17.27, while Martin Archer was 11th in Skipton with 21.33.

There were two stand-out performers at the Bradford Parkrun.

Oscar Street came 25th after recording a time of 21.48 and Caroline Howe finished 28th in 22.21.

Finally, Ben Sheppard and Colin Williams completed the Fellsman. The event climbs over 11,000 feet in its path from Ingleton to Threshfield in the Yorkshire Dales.

Sheppard finished in 13 hours and 30 minutes and paid tribute to the flawless navigation of a fellow competitor he ended up running with.

Colin was going well for the first 25 to 30 miles but found the boggy ground tough and slowed during the later section.

He was pleased to be able to run the final two miles along the road, though, something he wasn't able to do in 2013.
